Sleep Workshop: From Fatigued to Fantastic
Trouble sleeping??
Scientists don't know exactly WHY we need sleep, but they do know we can't function without it. Sleep is one of the most important things you can do to keep your body healthy. In fact, a lapse in adequate sleep time can lead to a decreased attention span, depressed feelings and difficulty processing ideas. Sleep problems can also be linked to increased weight gain and increase your chances of getting sick.
And yet, one of the most common things I hear is "I can't sleep." It’s believed that up to 30–50 percent of the general population is affected by acute insomnia at any given time, and up to 10 percent have chronic insomnia that lasts more than several months. If you have trouble falling asleep or waking up frequently during the night, know that you are not alone and there are ways to help.
In this workshop, we will investigate the five main types of insomnia and how to identify each, the different supplements, herbs and other aids that work for each type of insomnia (they are not all the same), and also review sleep hygiene, how to release the anxiety of heading to bed, and techniques to replenish you throughout the day.
